Rotterdam has two arboretums, the second one is in Hoogvliet. An interesting fact about this former dyke village is that this botanical centre was started in 2006, with a giant sequoia. Hoogvliet has a variety of living environments, a good connection to Rotterdam city centre and is located on the recreational area along the Oude Maas River.
