Schiebroek itself is a green area and is also surrounded by nature and recreational areas like the Schiebroekse Park, Melanchton Park, Wilgenplaspark, Plaswijckpark, the Wilgenhof petting zoo and the Bergse Achterplas lake. The northern part of the neighbourhood consists mostly of higher priced family homes while the southern part has more apartments. The neighbourhood has a good public transport connection with both tram line 25 and metro line E.
